Nutrient solutions are not to be confused with old fashioned fertilisers. They are more carefully formulated, for the most part, and from much purer mineral sources.
These products are based on experience in the commercial field and they reflect the latest thinking on plant nutrition as well as a commitment to long term soil fertility and the environment.

The products that are appearing these days are a far cry from the crudely formulated mass market products that are usually formulated for cheapness rather than for effectiveness with plants. The products we sell are not manufactured from harsh industrial chemicals and they are carefully targeted to the needs of plants so there is little chance of toxic residues.

Mineral or Organic?

This is a very big subject and you can read a fuller discussion elsewhere. We sell pure mineral solutions, such as Formulex, and we sell some very fine organic ones, such as the Bio-Bizz range from Holland. Other options include the bio-mineral type products – such as IONIC for Soil which is based on pure mineral formulations that are heavily enriched with organic plant acids.

The choices are very wide these days but we are sure we have selected some of the very finest products available and provided good information and clear instructions to help you get the best results possible.

Nutrient Solutions or Fertilisers – what’s the difference?

We use the term Nutrient Solutions to make a clear distinction between the high-end formulations we sell and the cheap and gaudy fertiliser products that dominate the mass market.The differences are quite simply stated:

Purity – our nutrient solutions are manufactured from the purest and most soluble mineral salts – rather than harsh industrial chemicals. All trace elements are fully chelated to ensure maximum availability to the plant.

Precision – our nutrient solutions are calculated in parts per million and manufactured by an expert hand. This avoids wastage and ensures that delivery to the plants is as accurate as possible. This ensures that there is minimal negative effect on soils and the environment.

Organics – many of our nutrient solutions are fortified with organic plant acids, which help to nourish the plant and also enrich the soil. This delivers great results in the current season but also stores up long-term health and fertility in the soil structure – building for the future.
